A Candidate Abroad - An FP Slide Show

On Tuesday, Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney wrapped up a trip to Britain, Israel, and Poland designed to highlight the candidate's foreign policy chops after he came under fire from the Obama campaign for his lack of international experience. But after a series of gaffes stole most of the presidential hopeful's headlines, commentators have begun to wonder what his campaign was hoping to achieve -- particularly since most pundits predict this election will be dominated by domestic economic worries.

"He's like the guy who is a competent-but-not-gifted athlete who learns to play golf," a GOP source told the Washington Post. "He works really hard at it, and most of the time he's perfectly competent, if not stellar. But once each round he is going to shank one and break a window on a house lining the golf course." Here, we look at some memorable moments (and a few shanks) from Romney's trip.
